What is NJROTC?
The Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) is a federally-sponsored high school program that educates and trains students to develop a leadership mentality, attention to detail, good citizenship, and problem-solving skills. Here at Centennial NJROTC, our mission is to benefit the Las Vegas community and our school while supporting our cadets and seeing them succeed during and after high school. Our program is open to ALL Centennial HS students.
Achievements
We take pride in our many accomplishments such as:
Placing 3rd overall in 2001, 2008, and 2015, at Navy Nationals Championship in Pensacola, FL
Placing 1st in Colorguard in 2015 at Navy Nationals and 3rd in 2016
The ONLY school to be selected as the Capt. Jim Harvey award winner in two different years. This award is presented to the school that best displays fair play, hard work, sportsmanship, and pride in all they do.
Offering a yearly orientation trip to Camp Pendelton, San Diego, CA for first-year cadets where they learn about military customs and history, grow strong bonds with the people around them, and embark on unique experiences throughout the week-long trip.
How do I enroll in NJROTC?
Enrollment can be done on your class selection list that you should have received during the most recent school year. Enrollment can also be done by contacting your assigned school counselor about getting a schedule change.
What room is NJROTC conducted in?
We are located in rooms 306 (NS4), 308 (NS1), and 318 (NS2/3).
What does the NJROTC program offer?
We offer a wide range of opportunities to our cadets such as the following after-school teams; Colorguard, Unarmed drill, Armed drill, Academic team, Physical Training, Orienteering, and Air rifle. We attend many competitions, including nationals. We also host several on-campus events for cadets to interact with each other and have fun, like barbeques, field days, Christmas parties, Navy birthday celebrations, and much more!
What do "NS1,2,3, and 4" stand for?
NS1,2,3, and 4 stand for "Naval Science" and then the number of years you've been in NJROTC.
